In a strategic move to improve the services offered to its Japanese players, Spain Rush-SPF has welcomed Mahiro Hasegawa to its coaching staff. Relocating from Yokosuka, Japan, Mahiro has embarked on a two-year developmental program for coaches in Valencia, driven by his keen interest in blending the Spanish and Japanese approaches to soccer.

Mahiro’s coaching journey began at the Glauna Football Academy in Tokyo, where he honed his skills by coaching young talents and participating in FC Barcelona Football Camps across Japan. These formative experiences paved the way for his current pursuit—mastering the essence of Spanish soccer. Reflecting on his experiences, Mahiro shares, “These months have been fantastic. The deep integration of soccer into Spanish daily life is profound, and I am amazed at how even subtle changes in training methodology can fulfill both team and individual objectives.”

Starting in June 2018, Mahiro has taken the helm of various programs tailored for Japanese players at SPF, including summer camps, cultural exchanges, pre-season stages, and professional player development. His role is critical in facilitating quick cultural adaptation and providing nuanced training that aligns with the needs of Japanese players.

Ruben Estelles, CEO of SPF, praises Mahiro’s impact: “Mahiro is doing remarkable work, especially with our Japanese players. We are thrilled to have him on our team.

The addition of Mahiro to the SPF coaching staff is more than just an appointment—it’s a strategic enhancement enabling the academy to cater effectively to a broader demographic, ensuring a seamless integration for Japanese players into Spanish soccer.
