Currently playing for North Carolina FC in the United Soccer League (USL), DJ Taylor stands out not only as a key player but also as one of the youngest talents in the league. His journey into professional soccer is closely tied to his foundational years at the Spain Rush-SPF in Valencia, Spain.

After a two-year stint at SPF, where he was deeply immersed in the professional soccer player formation program, DJ joined North Carolina FC. As a rookie, he faced the daunting task of competing with seasoned players for a spot on the team. Through a blend of SPF-trained skills and his inherent talent, DJ secured his role as the primary right back.

During the off-season, DJ made it a routine to return to SPF to strengthen the skills he had initially acquired, ensuring he stayed at the peak of his performance. By the onset of the current season, at just 20 years old, he was named the starting main right back. Despite his youth, DJ’s intensive playing style has made him increasingly vital to his team.

Reflecting on his career progression, DJ Taylor attributes a significant part of his development to the Spain Rush-SPF. “The coaches at SPF were instrumental in helping me acquire the technical and tactical skills necessary for playing on a professional team,” he states. His training regimen at SPF included morning sessions in professional programs and afternoons with a club team, allowing him to compete in Spain’s Honor Division with Torre Levante UD and in Tercera División with CD Buñol.

DJ adds, “Each season’s end, I prefer to engage in an off-season training program at SPF. It’s crucial for reinforcing the skills and concepts I’ve learned and to prepare optimally for the upcoming season.”
